The League You're About to Meet
Eleven baseball clubs across Central and Northern Uganda. Four regional tournaments, three Central winners and one Northern winner on the road to a championship played under the lights at Gayaza.
Two leagues. Four tournaments. One championship.
UBASA's 2026 Baseball National League is split into two regional bodies:
- Central League — clubs based in and around Kampala and the greater Mpigi region.
- Northern League — clubs based across the northern districts (Arua, Lira, and surrounding).
Because of a government-wide sports league re-registration that pushed the original calendar, the 2026 season is structured as four regional tournaments rather than a full home-and-away round-robin. This cuts travel cost for clubs and concentrates the competition into sharper, higher-stakes windows.
How playoffs work this season: three Central tournament winners and one Northern tournament winner advance to the national playoffs. From there, it's a road to the championship played at the Uganda–Japan Friendship Stadium, Gayaza, in October.
2027 and beyond: normal season schedule resumes, with the regional re-registration cleared and a full domestic calendar.
The 2026 road, in order.
- Four Regional Tournaments — three on the Central League side, one on the Northern. Three Central winners and one Northern winner punch playoff tickets.
- Cameroon Friendlies — Cameroon's baseball squad visited Uganda for two club friendlies — against Gayaza BC and Panyadoli Self Help, played July 21. First international match-ups for several players in the league.
- Playoffs — four tournament champions, one national bracket.
- Championship — October, at the Uganda–Japan Friendship Stadium, Gayaza.
Eleven clubs. Eleven identities.

International rights holder. Federation-first.
HELIOS holds the international rights for the Baseball National League — international merchandise on jerseys and hats, international broadcast and streaming, and episodic content. Every domestic right stays with UBASA.
The model is royalty-backed and federation-first: every jersey sold abroad pays a royalty to UBASA, every broadcast pays into a revenue share, and every dispatch raises the profile of the entire league — not any single club or player.
