What HELIOS Actually Does
HELIOS is the official international home for UBASA merchandise and media. We put eyeballs on the leagues the world hasn't met yet, and the kits to wear when the world catches up.
Three pillars. That's the whole business.
- International merchandise. Jerseys and hats — designed with the clubs, sold to fans worldwide.
- International broadcast and streaming. Livestreamed games, packaged highlights, and game-of-the-week coverage on platforms the league couldn't reach alone.
- Episodic content. Profiles, dispatches, training-camp coverage, season recaps.
That's the whole business. We are an audience builder for leagues whose audience hasn't been built yet.
Why Uganda first.
Uganda has twelve baseball clubs, roughly 275 players, a re-elected federation leadership with a 5-year strategic plan, a domestic talent pipeline, and a championship venue built with Japanese partnership at Gayaza. Several Ugandan players are already in MLB organizations or playing pro abroad.
And yet — there's no English-language broadcast of the league. No DTC merchandise abroad. No kits a fan in Brooklyn or Berlin can wear.
That's the gap HELIOS exists to close. The math works for everyone: the federation gets a revenue stream from a market that didn't exist, players' visibility rises with every viewer, and fans get to wear something nobody else is wearing.
Federation-first. Royalty-backed. Anti-extractive.
Every HELIOS partnership is built around principles, not exceptions:
- The federation leads. All payments route to a federation-controlled account. No personal compensation to officers. Approval rights on every kit, every broadcast, every story.
- Royalties on every sale. Every international sale pays the federation a royalty, with a guaranteed annual minimum on top.
- Players keep their NIL. Player image rights stay with players. We are an audience builder, not a talent broker.
- Anti-extractive. Our coverage raises the profile of the entire league. We don't operate a covert recruitment pipeline. We don't quietly funnel players to any third party.
- Long-term, not transactional. Multi-year terms designed to outlive any single administration, election, or season.
Uganda is the first. Not the last.
The model is built to repeat. Czech baseball. Chinese Taipei circuits. Cuban-emigré barnstorming. Australian Baseball League secondary sides. There's a long list of leagues where the talent has outpaced the international infrastructure — and where someone needs to build the audience without absorbing the rights.
Drop 02 will be announced after we've delivered Drop 01 properly.
